Back Office on Tap

Helping Breweries Focus on Beer, Not Paperwork

I genuinely enjoy exploring new breweries.  Small neighborhood taprooms, larger regional operations, I've always been amazed by the amount of passion that goes into each pint.  Living in the Finger Lakes, I'll never run out of new breweries to visit.

I was a home brewer myself for a short time, until an ill fated peach wit derailed my dreams of opening my own taproom.  But my fascination for the process never waned.  Brewing beer is fun, which is why most brewers get into the field - to brew their beer and see the result enjoyed by friends, family, and patrons.

What's often less fun, though, is the amount of back-office grind that comes with owning and operating a brewery.  Juggling IT systems, HR compliance, marketing, security, and other business necessities can pile up on you and steal time from want you are there to do: brew great beers and serve them to your community.

Some of the challenges I've seen breweries run into:

  • POS / Taproom Tech : Systems that are secure, reliable, and integrate with your accounting and inventory systems are key.
  • Brewery Management Software : Ekos, OllieOps and others are powerful tools, but often need configuration and an understanding of how they interface with underlying processes
  • Network / Cybersecurity : Improperly configured Guest, Staff, and Operations Wi-Fi can expose your business to risks
  • HR & Staffing : High turnover and compliance with labor laws can be overwhelming
  • Security / Taproom Safety : Breweries are gathering spaces.  Sometimes alcohol + crowds = rowdy behavior.
  • Access Control : Keeping patrons out of restricted areas protects both customer and staff
  • Marketing : Between new beer releases, events, and distribution, marketing often gets scattered.

This is where Finger Lakes Work Place comes in.  We provide support with IT, Security, HR, Marketing, and back office operations to small businesses, including breweries.  We are a one call shop, handling your operations and freeing you up to focus on your brewery.

Running a brewery should be about the joy of beer, not the operations hang over.  If you're ready to get your processes in order so you can pour more energy into your passion, schedule a FREE 1 HR Consultation to see if we'd be a fit for you.

Cheers!

Aaron
